Chrysler looks at partners for mid-sized cars
Chrysler LLC will decide by late winter whether to partner with another automaker on its global mid-sized car platform, known as Project D, says CEO Bob Nardelli. Chrysler must decide whether to engineer the platform in-house and build vehicles at its own factories or work with another carmaker. The company has indicated it would prefer a partner. I don't see where outsourcing or partnering will benefit us any. The cars don't need anything major. They just need refinements done that Diamler wouldn't allow in the Chrysler side of the company. The Sebring & Avengres just need some better noise insulation, a little more power; and MAJOR upgrading on the interior.
The latest rumors I hear regarding GM would be totally catastrophic to Chrysler. Cerberus just needs to get the other 19% away from Diamler and let us rock on selling the best cars.
