In a recent 0-200 mph skirmish between the big dogs conducted by Road & Track the Hennessey-tuned "Venom 1000" Dodge Viper bested the Bugatti Veyron by a good 4 seconds.
Viper Hennessey: 20.1 seconds
Bugatti Veyron: 24.2 seconds
Corvette Lingenfelter: 26.6 seconds
Porsche RUF RT 12: 35.5 seconds
Mercedes SLR: 47.2 seconds
Lamborghini Murcielago: 50.1 seconds
Twin Garrett turbochargers allow the Hennessey Viper Venom to put out 1000 hp and 1100 ft-lbs of torque. The Corvette was a Lingenfelter twin-turbo 7.0-liter with 880 bhp. The Bugatti's 4WD allowed for the driver to flat foot it for the entire run with minimal wheel spin. Neither the Viper nor the Vette had that luxury until 100+ mph. The Corvette began to leak oil after its first run. On this run the driver was still learning to launch the beast and the folks from LPE had yet to fit the car with their BFGoodrich drag slicks.
